We currently have sufficient regular monthly giving to fund the salaries of two staff members (Joseph and Priscilla).

Emma’s financial support is independent of Turning Leaves and comes from family and close friends.

We are now looking to raise an additional £200 per month to pay the salary of a full time experienced teacher to support Emma, particularly as she sets up the model school. We have so far got a commitment of £70 per month, so are looking for a further £130 per month!

Education for most children in Uganda is not completely free, even in government run schools. We are looking for creative ways parents and guardians can contribute to the running of the model school, but most are subsistence farmers and traders, and so have limited resources. In due course, we will be looking to raise money to support the ongoing costs of the model school.

Whilst we have some money to start construction of the school buildings and infrastructure, we will need to raise money to complete the work.

If you would like to sponsor a child, the Turning Leaves team can help, but we would suggest that you consider committing to the child on a long term basis, beyond the Turning Leaves nursery, through primary education, and possibly secondary and tertiary education. You should budget for £20-25 per month.

For our 2023 Christmas appeal, we raised £2,300 to fit out the new office and a classroom at our model school.
